Wednesday Shopping!! :o)

This Wednesday we went with all the Ladies Shopping in Nairobi! (Don’t you just love it!) We went with Mrs. Mestler, Mrs. Rains, my mom (Mrs. Halstead), Roslyn (A really sweet lady in our church), and Roslyn’s two little boys! Samuel, six months, and Brain, three years old! Only Emily couldn’t come because she was in school. :o( But don’t worry we brought her things to make up for it. Like a pretty skirt, Asian snacks, and a rice Krispy treat. (Yea, Ash got her that. How did you guess?)

First, thing we did was to pick up every one. Ashlyn got to hold Samuel first, and Brain sat between us. (P.S. the Babies were all in the back. Yes, we are considered babies. :o) I don’t mind; I think its kind-of sweet.) Samuel and Brain mainly just looked out the window and watched the cars go by. Half way there Samuel fell asleep and Ashlyn’s arms got tried so I got to hold him the rest of the way there! At least I think Ashlyn’s arms got tried. See, I asked her if her arms were tried and if she needs me to take over; she took the hint. ;o)

We got to Diamond plaza and that is where Ashlyn and I figured out our times to hold Samuel. See, Ashlyn gets him all the time at Diamond and I get him at Sarit Centre. We went to a shop called “Be Smart” to get our haircuts. The one guy there, had his hair short but with one little strip on the nap of his neck about an inch longer than the rest. All I could think was let’s be smart and not let our hair be butchered here. Mrs. Rains got her hair cut first. I liked it, the guy did a pretty good job!! When Mrs. Rains was almost done the second guy came in and he started on Ashlyn’s hairs. I said “hairs” because she has tons! (This guy looked a little better than the other but still funny looking. Ashlyn was thinking, “Do you even know or use a comb on that hair of yours?”) The first guy cut my mom’s hair and just started on mine by the time Ashlyn was done.

After that we went shopping for Asian shirts. I got a really cute coral one; which I think that color  is in right now. Right? We then were famished and had to get lunch. My mom and I shared; we got a thing of bajias, a paneer shawama, Lemon ginger (mom’s drink), and a strawberry mint. (My drink, it was super GOOD!! Ashlyn also got one.)
Our hair cuts afterwards. Sorry it's such bad quality.

I LOVE this little guy! <3

We than went to a big mall named Sarit. I got Samuel and put him in the front pack. I was kind-of surprised how easy and comfortable it was to carry him. Outside of Sarit there is always these ladies selling long flowing skirts. I was standing out side and it was super-hot and poor little Samuel was so uncomfortable. So, Mom and I went inside the Mall. When the guards saw me with this sweet little angle they just flag me through, I didn’t even have to go through the metal detector. My mom and I just walked around looking at things with our sleeping Samuel. I loved it how everyone was just so sweet around me because I was holding a baby. “Oh, He’s sleeping. Shhh! “ :o)  I think that may be my favorite part of the day. We then got ice coffee at Java House to go. We were all supposed to meet back up by the car but somehow at the end everyone was at Java House. “Now everyone pile into the car, make sure you have everything you bought!” One last stop at a grocery store so Mrs. Rains could buy some much needed things, like two jars of mayonnaise. ;o)

Aww, look at this cutie!!

Our favorite Asian treat "honey things"!

We told Brian to simile, and we were putting our fingers on our mouths forming the simile. He didn't simile but he got the fingers. :o)
