God is Good

The hardest thing about being a MK is that you say good byes all your life. When you are young you say good bye to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins not seeing them for years. When you go home on a furlough and as you are visiting all your supporting churches you make friends but the next day you have to say good bye. As you get older you might first say good bye to a sibling or you might be the oldest and have to say good bye to parents and siblings as you go off to college. You are always living away from someone you love. This is a very difficult thing but God makes up for all of it. God's Word says in Luke 18:29-30  "And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake,  (30)  Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting." On the mission field God has given us Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and Grandparents in the missionaries that we work with. We know our missionary family better than our real family back in the States. I am really thankful for our missionary team. Mr. and Mrs. Rains are like the aunt and uncle we miss. They takes us soul-winning every Saturday and treats us to goodies. Mrs. Rains was the first person to take me on a tuk tuk ride. I am so thankful for the Rains' godly example of serving the Lord from a young age.
Who can compete with Dr. and Mrs. Simonsen. Every missionary team needs a penny pincher like Dr. Simonsen who knows the cheapest and best places to eat and who is the best Greek teacher in the world. I am thankful for Mrs. Simonsens creativity. Everything she does is done with an artistic flair ,and she is a really good cook.
Mr. and Mrs. Mestler are like the grandparents that every missionary kid wishes they could be with. Who else would have four, crazy, teenage girls over for a sleepover and play Pictionary with them all day ,and the next morning make them pancakes for breakfast.
When God said he would supply all our needs he knew exactly what we needed. I am so thankful for our missionary team here in Kenya!
