An evening walk in Ngoingwa

What!......where  in the world is Ngoingwa? I know it's a strange name, and yet another good name, Mukwonago. (my home town in America:-)  Anyway, Ngoingwa is the name of the neighbourhood where we live, here in Kenya. It's on the outskirts of Thika, town, has dirt roads, and tons of houses and people. I love living here!
Today, Zach, mom, Suzy, and I went on a walk, with the purpose of finding avocados (for our chicken fajitas, tomorrow night), and just to take a walk.:-) I love walking and enjoyed today's walk, with the sun setting, the evening wind blowing, and from the pictures you can see all the little adventures we had along the way, too.;-)

Please take heed to this WARNING: Picture Overload!;-)

This here is the rat that almost got flung onto mom's head.
Gross, I know, but even worse is, this was what a group of kids were playing with as a toy!:-0
So begins our walk!:-)

Here's the kids.
They enjoyed running after us for a ways shouting Mzungu (white man), and saying "How are you, How are you?"

I took a few pics of the houses around.

Here is a church (not sure what kind) around here.

.....another house

This is what most of the gardens look like around here...all the plants are poking through.

Yet another house

I like this picture of all the school kids walking home. (around six thirty p.m.) Love the dad holding his two sons hands as they walk home.:-)

Yes, one more house.

And of course, we had to stop and get chips! ;-)

Where we got our avocados

This is the busy road we cross to get to our side of the road.

I think this is a much better toy than the rat!!:-)

Another gate

walking down our driveway, heading home......

.....And here we are!

Just had to add ;-) these picture of Brian and his new baby brother, Samuel. Samuel was born last Thursday morning. I love these little guys!:-)

Here is Samuel!

and Brian who is now a big brother! He is not quite sure what to think of that yet!:-)

One more of Brian!
