Zach's big adventure

Both my brothers!

This is one adventure Zach would have, probably,  rather gone without, but he didn't really have a choice. On Monday Zach started having pain in his stomach, and it just got worse and worse throughout the day. At midnight, mom and dad took him in to the hospital (about an hour and a half away), because the pain kept increasing. Poor, little Zach had appendicitis, and early Tuesday morning they did the surgery to take out his appendix.

Now, Zach and mom are going to be in the hospital up till Saturday, and everyone, here at home,is missing them:-)  I miss him coming into my bedroom and saying, "Ashlyn, you're the best big sister ever.";-)

On the way to the hospital today, we stopped at Domino's Pizza, which, by the way, just came to Kenya, and today was actually their opening day.:-) That's why you see Zach holding a Domino's balloon. Poor guy, we brought two pieces of pizza, for mom to try, and he couldn't eat any; All he get's to eat, for now, is apple juice and yoghurt.  I don't know how I would survive,  not being able to eat chocolate or such.(I may not;-)

Yesterday and Today we went to see Zach in the hospital.
This is on the wall, right next to zach's bed....I loved it!

I love this picture of him, so I just had to put it up.;-)
Isn't he cute?....handsome I mean(he hates when I call him cute:-)
But, I wouldn't be a true big sister if I didn't embarrass,
him every once in awhile.:-)

Open air market

I got a few pictures of the open air market, the other day, and thought you might like to see where we shop for most of our clothes, shoes, and such.
If you don't know this already, I love shopping, so I enjoy writing on this topic.:-) I didn't get very many pictures, because I was afraid someone might get mad at me for taking a picture of their shop......thankfully no one did.:-)
Shopping in the market is not like shopping in any other store , it's just different.:-) You have piles of clothes to look through and find what you want, all kinds of shoes to choose from, and then there is the bargaining. (in other words getting the price down to what it should be)
I always think it's funny when I find clothes with the Good Will tag still on them, and the price still in dollars. (rather than shillings) Oh, and seeing name tags from somewhere like Christopher and Banks.:-)
Anyway, now you know what I am talking about when I mention the open air market.

While Mom's Away!!

Well Ashlyn just wrote her post about going to Meru, and how much fun they had, it was quite a different story here at home!!!

I have never realized how much we do need Mrs. Rains! She is a hidden gem. While she was gone we starved, panicked, were confused, had nightmares, got dizzy, and just plain had a terrible time!! On Saturday afternoon for soul winning, we set out with high hopes. We all piled into the car, that is when we first were worried and started to doubt. There were three big boys in the back four in the middle and three in the front. Maybe we shouldn't do this.

At the end of soul winning we left the Rains with encouraging words like, don’t worry you guys can do it! Its only two more nights and then they’ll be home!  Early the next morning we stopped by for a surprising scene. There on the couch was Winnie crying, “Why did mom do this to us?” Taylor wearing an apron trying to do the dishes, and Zac was eating banana bread.

Taylor in his apron...

Later at church, boy did we have problems! We set up the chairs backwards, put up signs up-side-down, and some people got confused if they were carrying stuff up to the Sunday school room or down. Emily who was supposed to acopmony the church services was so nerves she forgot where her fingers were.

How we put the sign up... I think we need some help.

Some how we made it through the day without getting hurt! (WoW) We even played a game of Mancala using coins instead of marbles.

Thank you Mrs. Rains for all you do! But please don't ever leaves us like that again!!!
